Surfing

Although Brighton is not famous for its surfing, it is possible given the right conditions. Local breaks include ‘The West Pier’ (by the club arch), ‘The Hotpipes’, ‘Newbeach’ and a few other spots near Shoreham harbour as well as the Marina reef for those advanced surfers. Keep your eyes posted on the forums for when the Surfs Up! We have a few boards and wetsuits at the arches but most of our surfing occurs on weekend trips to the west country or Wales where tuition and board hire is usually available.

Useful Information.
Summer and winter suits will be necessary to keep warm and are available to buy in your particular size at various outdoor sports stores as well as surf boots which come in handy when crossing a stony beach. Please see safety guidelines before going surfing.
