The club primarily focuses on off-road cycling, but during summer members do organise some road cycles.
Road cycles take place during summer on Monday or Tuesday evenings. These usually start at 18:30 and head out on country roads for 10-20 miles. We typically end at a pub. Some rides start from Brighton and Hove, others from various country pubs.
Road rides on Saturdays or Sundays occur on an intermittent basis throughout the year whenever anyone feels like organising them. They vary from short to rather longer.
Keep an eye on the Events Calendar and cycling WhatsApp groups.
Road Cycling may take place on club multi-activity trips.
Other than a few lights for night-rides, the club doesn’t provide equipment for road cycling. You’ll need your own bike.
Beginners are welcome to join us for road cycles. But if you’re looking to exclusively road cycle (as opposed to joining in our other activities) then a dedicated cycling club might be a better fit!
On trips you’ll need to pay for travel and accommodation. If car-sharing, you might want to contribute some petrol money.
During Covid group sizes were limited, initially to pairs and then to fit with the rule of 6. These restrictions have since lifted.
